Moving is a big day. So prepare beforehand:
When you have a definite date for completion, its time to book your removal company.
Fill the cars up with petrol before the day (believe me it'll come in handy).
Check out where the nearest take aways to your new house are (just in case the cooker does not work).
On the day:
- Pack an overnight bag for moving day - this will get you through your first night in your new home.
- Remember to have everyday items like toilet rolls, light bulbs etc. on hand.
- Take final meter readings for gas, electric and - where applicable - water.
Mail - Changing your Address
It is a good idea to redirect your mail. Go to the Royal Mail web site for details.
Make a list of those you need to let know your change of address (it could be an idea to get some cheap cards printed):
